The House system at the S.P.H.S.S is an essential part of the school community and provides friendly but fierce competition for all to get involved in. Dating back to the long-lasting House legacy still stands strong today. The four Houses are named after prominent rivers of India:
Each house elects a House Captain and House Vice Captain and meetings are held quarterly. Competitions form an important part of the House system and points are collected throughout the year in exciting House events such as House Drama/Music and for the gaining of ‘merits’ for good work/actions. There are also several House events that include sports, such as House Hockey and Sports Day. The House shield is awarded at end of terms and at the annual Prize-giving Ceremony, the House trophy is awarded to the overall winner for the year.

Comments about the House System from Current House Captains:
“Being a House Captain is an honor and is enormously rewarding. After all the hard work and organization put into preparing for house events, it is an incredible feeling to see the results and the pride the girls have in their house.”
“I really enjoy my position as House Captain. I find it deeply fulfilling, and having such an involvement with the younger years makes me feel that I’m playing a key role within the school.”
